Job description
A Cape Town based creative agency is looking to employ a digital savvy individual to assist in the creation of social media content and digital marketing functions for a diverse range of reputable brands. The successful incumbent will be responsible for fostering a community around the brands by creating exciting and engaging content.
Primary responsibilities:

- Grow your brand’s online reputation with relevant and influential groups
- Manage all incoming media requests and ensure correct managers are informed
- Identify third party collaborators and publications
- Monitor brand mentions on external platforms
- Communication
- Assist in creating and maintaining monthly content calendars that are insightful and appealing for the allocated brands on all social media platforms.
- Day-to-day management of all social media platforms, including scheduling and posting of content and responding to external and internal queries.
- Identify additional platforms on which to communicate to your audience.
- Identify target groups for which to communicate and grow your audience.
- Work with the design and photography team to create attractive imagery and design for the social pages.
- Assist in conceptualizing and implementing dynamic and organic ad campaigns across social media platforms for the various brands
- Continually enhance content (photos, videos, written)
Social Media Marketing
- Create engaging posts and adverts and publish them on relevant and targeted platforms
- Identify and recruit influencers for your online community
- Read, conceptualize and execute social media strategy
- Adhere to budgets for the function
PR
- Grow your brand’s online reputation with relevant and influential groups
- Manage all incoming media requests and ensure correct managers are informed
- Identify third party collaborators and publications
- Monitor brand mentions on external platforms
Analytics
- Monitor and measure the success of online community management
- Analyse reports and suggest new campaigns and initiatives to enhance performance
Programs and Proficiencies
- Google G-Suite
- Hootsuite
- Shutterstock
- Facebook Ads Manager/Facebook Business Manager
- Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube
- Asana (not imperative, but advantageous)
- WordPress (not imperative, but advantageous
Key requirements
- Strong networking and communication skills
- One to two years’ experience in social media management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of various social networks and other communities
- Strong focus on attention to detail
- Passionate about travel and tourism
- Fluent in English (write, read, speak). Additional language advantageous
