Job description

We are searching for a software developer, with some experience in front-end development, who is eager to join our software development team. Our environment is fast moving, focused, structured and collaborative. As a software developer, you will form part of a team of developers who are responsible for critical business processes. You will report to an Agile Lead. To excel in our environment, you would need a thirst for continuous learning and be a creative thinker with experience in user experience definition and user interface design.

Requirements

Key Performance Areas:

• Creative front-end skills to develop product ready web applications, functional prototypes and interactive demos for a variety of web and mobile-based initiatives
• Develop functional and appealing web- and mobile-based applications whilst consuming WCF services and RESTful API’s created by back-end developers
• Provide website maintenance and enhancements
• Assist back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting
• Create cascading style sheets (CSS) that are consistent across all browsers and platforms
• Maintain digital standards and branding throughout the product’s interface
• Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies

 Qualification:

•  Three-year tertiary qualification in Information Technology (B.Sc. Information Science or National Diploma/B Tech Information Technology) from a recognised institution

 Experience: 

• A minimum one year of experience developing interactive web and mobile applications
• A minimum one year of experience with JavaScript libraries, JQuery, HTML and CSS3
• Experience with WCF and RESTful API’s
• Experience with one of the popular PHP MV* / MVC frameworks (like Cake or Code Ignitor)
• Experience with cross-browser compatibility, fluid layouts and adaptive layouts
• Deliver HTML5/CSS3/JQuery front-end code across a broad array of interactive web and mobile projects
• Develop and test across multiple browsers, platforms, and devices, including smartphones and tablets
• A grasp of a range of UX tools, processes, and outcomes
• Understand Agile methodology and processes
• Ideally has some experience with Microsoft MVC
• CSS systems such as LESS and SASS to compile style files
• TFSVC (Team Foundation Version Control) or other version control system
• Developing for search engine optimization
• CMS platforms such as Expression Engine and WordPress

 Functional competencies:
