We are currently seeking a junior tester that has recently graduated with IS diploma or has one to two years of testing experience
Essential job functions:
- The primary role of the position will be the test planning, execution and reporting on software developed. Regression of test cases will also be your focus, together with load, performance and stress testing.
- You will be responsible for developing test case procedures and maintaining test documentation.
- You will be required to work as part of a team and will be jointly responsible for assisting with test activities where required.
- In addition you will develop and maintain the test plan and test schedules.
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of testing issues within a complex project and organisation.
- Experience of testing messaging systems and SQL advantageous.
- Work closely with the test analyst, production team and client service staff.
- Assist team in being responsible for all output of the testing team.
- Record problems and issues on the defect-tracking tool, such as Mantis.
- Complete the objectives of each assignment within the agreed timeframe.
- Participate in project planning with team members to contribute time estimates on software testing.
- Responsible for system/function and integration testing.
- Responsible for control the test configuration and environment.

- Additional skills: web development skills and experience in high volume transactional systems.
Experience and education:
- At least one year in any areas of the SDLC
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of testing issues within a complex project and organisation.
- Demonstrate experience and understanding of testing types, including functional, stress and load testing.
- Understanding of the testing challenges presented when applications are tested in isolation or in conjunction with interfacing applications.
- Experience of working in n-Tier, client server and database environments.
- Understanding of the testing challenges presented when applications are tested in isolation or in conjunction with interfacing applications.
- Demonstrate an ability to quickly become conversant with new technical concepts and technologies.
- Demonstrate experience and understanding of testing types, including regression, functional, stress and load testing.
- Demonstrate high-level knowledge of software development methodologies.
- Have good interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels and comfortable in the cross-cultural environment.
- Ability to think creatively and be able to think of a multitude of ways to exercise a system or application to ensure that it works in all circumstances.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Qualification:
Diploma in IS, computer science, computer engineering, or any related discipline or relevant demonstrated industry experience, e.g., ISEB certification.
