Launch Engineer (6 Months Contract)
Requirements
- Matric
- Engineering Diploma and or equivalent qualification (T4 / S4 / N6 )
- Minimum 5 years experience in related maintenance, process, and production engineering.
- Automotive experience a must
- Exposure to customer liaison essential
- Project Management Skills essential
Brief Description of Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Support
- The Launch Engineer is responsible for assisting the NPI Department in all the duties with regards to the efficient development and cost-saving production of all products taking into consideration that quality and customer satisfaction are the highest targets of the company. Therefore, the company must be organized under the most modern aspects, promoting and involving each individual employee. By the involvement of all employees into teamwork, kaizen activities, quality circles, training programs, and information processes and environment must be initiated and maintained supporting the performance through motivated and quality-conscious personnel. To ensure the technology/equipment used is of advance process technology available at the most cost-effective prices
Process Planning
- The Launch Engineer is responsible for assisting NPI Department in process planning and implementation in close co-operation with the Business Groups standards. Processes must correspond to the high technical standards regarding stability, quality, and economy. Information gathered out of production is to be considered for continuous improvement of the processes and to meet customer PSW dates.
Maintenance
- The Launch Engineer is responsible for assisting in undertaking all efforts to guarantee ongoing as well as future quality of products manufactured. All activities and necessary actions must be discussed and agreed by the Management Team. Must ensure the establishment of all productive and preventative maintenance schedules and the maintenance of these schedules with continuous improvement. Process layout planning and equipment installation/relocation planning a cross-functional team. Process capabilities / FMEA’s
Quality
- The Industrial Engineer will assist NPI Engineering in undertaking all efforts to guarantee ongoing as well as future quality of products manufactured. All activities and necessary actions must be discussed and agreed by the Management Team. In some instances, decisions regarding quality must be given by the Central Quality Department.
Customer and Supplier Liaison
- The Launch Engineer will assist NPI Department in the sourcing of suppliers relevant to all products produced. This will include all project timing scales and RFQ details. Submit process requirements/cost for upgrades / new projects, budget approvals and CAR submission/approval to meet PSW readiness.
Document Control
- Ensure that all documentation pertaining to project management and related maintenance system is adequately filed and controlled.
