Learning Designer – Global (Cape Town)
The South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP) is the leading independent provider of education in psychology, counselling and coaching, offering accredited undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications.
SACAP seeks a Learning Designer within its Global division to develop various world class digital products, including online short courses and micro-credentials, for a growing portfolio of global students. We want you to help us develop a reputation for designing and delivering high-quality innovative courses.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop online, interactive learning experiences for a range of students in a range of fields based on best practice.
- Execution of development of online short courses from end to end
- Devise and implement a SACAP methodology for the design and development of short courses and micro-credentials.
- Prepare and upload all courses on the learning platform.
- Project manage end to end: from conception to completion.
- Identify and manage learning technologies.
- Facilitator co-ordination: Identify, contract, train and support approved online facilitators.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Analyse and report on online learning facilitator and student data; evaluate learning impact.
- The role will work alongside the Marketing Manager in the development of content for marketing collateral to promote the courses.
Qualifications and Experience
- Undergraduate degree in relevant field e.g. education, media studies, communication, social sciences
- Design thinking knowledge and experience
- Execution of end to end development of online short courses
- Demonstrated experience in designing engaging and meaningful learning experiences in short courses (a portfolio of evidence is required)
- Knowledge of instructional design theories, methodologies and online pedagogies in adult education.
- Agile project management
- Sound experience in online delivery of courses.
- Two to three year’s work experience
- Visual design skills advantageous

This is a permanent, full-time position operating from Mondays to Fridays:
Monday – Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00
Friday: 08:30 – 16:00
Due to the nature of this role, there will be a need to work flexible hours to the extent to which it is reasonably necessary to perform the duties of this position.
