Logistics Analyst
Qualification
- Minimum Grade 12. Post Matric Purchasing / Logistics related qualification will be advantageous
Experience
- Minimum 3 years Purchasing/Logistics experience including core knowledge and skills
- PC knowledge (MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes)
- SAP and MFG Pro knowledge is advantage
- Materials flow (FIFO, Kanban, JIT, JTDS)
- Understanding Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Problem solving skills
- Analytic skills
- Ability to cope with stressful situations
- Teamwork approach
Purpose of the Job
- Plan and carry out daily counting of raw materials for the East London plant as per cycle count plan
Responsibilities:
- Manage and Supervise daily cycle counts on all materials in accordance to the ABC analysis
- Perform line audits to ensure that the line/s is labelled correctly
- Perform BOM audits
- Verify that parts identified for a count are all booked in
- Report any discrepancies to the material handler’s coordinator
- Communicate with the receiving clerk regarding completeness of receipts and any documentation regarding stock movement before counting commence
- Establish accurate cut-off points before counting
- Ensure that counting scales are in good working order, note for calibration of scales and report any malfunctioning thereof to the Quality Department
- Check with Quality Department for completeness of DMR’s, for the identified parts to be counted
- Record counted quantities on cycle count work sheet and indicate in which area the stock was counted: e.g. Stores or Line side
- Complete all calculations before handing in the cycle counting worksheet/s to the inventory controller
- Perform stock discrepancy analysis
- Perform stock take function and any other reasonable and lawful function as delegated
- Assist in the Logistics performance monitoring
- Monitors and management performance of cycle counters
