Waterfall Schools based in Hillcrest, KwaZulu-Natal, is seeking a full-time marketing and communications manager to head the marketing team to promote its trio of schools; namely Waterfall Pre-Primary, Waterfall Preparatory, and Waterfall College. The ideal candidate will be strategic, forward-thinking, and have the skills and experience to grow the three schools and implement innovative recruitment strategies.
Outstanding people skills, excellent presentation and writing skills, a knowledge of the independent school sector and a good knowledge of social media strategy are some of the essential characteristics that are required. The successful candidate will be accountable to the heads of schools for all aspects of marketing and communications and will manage the full-time marketing assistant.
Main duties:
- To ensure that Waterfall Schools reach their recruitment/admission goals
- To compile and manage the annual marketing budget
- To compile and implement 90-day marketing and communications plans which aim to increase student numbers and develop a sense of school community
- To compile, coordinate, and deliver a positive public relations plan to promote the schools in the local community and press
- To be the custodian of the corporate identity
- To present marketing reports to the board and marketing committee
Training, experience, and character:
- A tertiary level qualification or similar
- At least 10 years of marketing experience including school marketing experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong IT skills
- Optimism and an ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
- The successful applicant will be proactive, confident, approachable, and well-presented, a person of integrity who shares the vision and values of our schools
- An ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good time management with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise as necessary
