FAnews is the leading magazine and online portal in the financial services and insurance industry. Our readership comprises of financial advisors and brokers. We report on industry news, information and resource offerings which includes training, practice management, risk management, legal etc. in all the insurance sectors i.e. Life / Retirement / Investments / Healthcare and Short term.

Requirements

Qualifications and skills

• A journalism degree or similar qualification
• Experience as a journalist
• Excellent interview and communication skills
• Writing articles for both online and print publications (including newsletters) in the insurance and financial services industry
• Generate articles easily
• Ability to understand what is newsworthy and of interest to their audience
• Rewrite other’s work into the style of the publication
• Confident – both telephonically, in person and in front of the camera
• Well-articulated
• A sound knowledge of financial services and insurance principles
• Understand social media and use it daily
• Attend conferences, launches and events and can network
• Can build relationships
• Meet deadlines
• Understand and apply the basic principles of news reporting (networking, initiating own leads and following up stories, accuracy and balanced reporting)
• Understand the audience you are writing for
• Positive, resourceful and passionate
• Active team member
• Accommodating and flexible
• Can work unaided
• Must have own transport
• Detail-orientated
