Calling all fashionistas and retail aficionados! We have a fantastically exciting job opportunity for a mid-senior graphic designer at a small, well-established, retail-focused agency in Durban. This super role will see you creating visual concepts to communicate inspiring ideas that will inform and captivate consumers.  You will design layouts and have the opportunity to do 360° campaign rollouts.  The design work focuses on Below-the-Line (BTL) elements including print, digital, in-store signage, also touching on visual merchandising collateral on some well-loved South African brands.

Responsibilities include:

• Client interface and liaison
• Research concepts (using web, store visits etc.) to gather insights and ideas
• Develop strategic thinking that informs the creative concept
• Participate and contribute to brainstorming sessions and workshops
• Initiate the creative direction and concepts
• Articulation of thinking into concepts using visuals
• Design all creatives with the design team
• Present to various stakeholders, including clients
• Work closely with the copywriter to refine the concept
• Model selects if required for shoots
• Art direct on shoot
• Ensuring deadlines are met and the design process is efficient and within hours allocated
• Some exposure to production processes

Requirements

The successful candidate must have/be:

• Tertiary diploma or degree in visual communication
• Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
• Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and After Effects (advantageous)
• Possess an ability to think strategically about the creative outcome of a project process
• An ability to cope with a high work volume within tight deadlines
