Our client is a Bryanston-based transactional IT environment and is a specialised services company that has developed and successfully operated secure transactional portals for numerous national, provincial, and local government departments and institutions. They deliver a world class service to the citizens of South Africa and process millions of transactions and billions of Rands on a daily basis. They are currently looking for a mid-tier Java developer to join their team; not only will you need a strong technical background in Java software development in an enterprise environment, but will also be required to possess strong management skills.

Requirements

Experience and skills:

• Relevant qualification
• Java
• J2EE/JEE
• LiveCycle data services
• Flex
• Experience with development of real-time web-based
• Experience with user interfaces
• Experience with development lifecycle and processes
• Three to five years’ experience

Roles and responsibilities:

• Responsible for system maintenance and new development as required by the senior developer on their team
• Responsible for committing code within specified timelines within the guidelines of the assigned team
• Responsible for ensuring the quality of delivered code and will take charge of component development as required
• Expected to provide maintenance and code enhancements for the production team
• Expected to be actively enhancing their knowledge of the Adobe Platform and elements of modern UI design and deployment
• Required to deploy systems onsite at the customers from time to time
• Expected to liaise with testing teams and where necessary directly with the customer
• Expected to be conversant with Flex, LiveCycle
