Job description

Wicus Labuschagne is looking for a Nuke VFX compositor who is interested in education to help with mentoring and training compositors remotely using an online system.

This is the ideal position for a VFX generalist or compositor who wants to work remotely and relaxed without the stress of working towards the crazy deadlines of the film industry while training other compositors.

Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail combined with an understanding of the logistics of the post-production process and technical knowledge are key.

The candidate should be a self-starter, meticulous, and a stickler for detail. He or she should be familiar with the basics of feature film production and VFX. With so much emphasis on record keeping and detail work, the VFX compositor must have a command of the most useful computer apps, such as Word, Excel, and database software.

Requirements

• Experienced in Foundry Nuke is a must.
• Knowledge of the following fields a bonus: Rotoscoping, Photography, Matte Painting and Basic 3D is a bonus.
• No qualifications required other than ambition and the right attitude.
• Relevant industry experience a plus.
• Diploma or degree a bonus.
• Ability to work under pressure, teamwork, flexibility, time management. 
• Must be a good communicator, work well under pressure, and have a passion for the industry.
