An opportunity exists to join a professional farming operation in Howick, Kwazulu Natal Description This position reports directly to the Farm Owner. It involves planning and carrying out of the day to day operational aspects of the stock, feed management and housing. The Key objective is to maximise the productivity and profitability of the piggery, without compromising on quality, stock welfare and human resources You must ensure that the production unit meets all its targets and objectives. Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 – an agricultural degree or diploma will be an advantage At least 10 years of relevant farm management experience, ideally in intensive animal husbandry Fluent in both English and Zulu Valid driver’s license Reputable references Have practical and technical skills Strong administration skills Characteristics: Demonstrate strong integrity, passion, and focus Excellent communication skills where the ability to balance listening and talking, is important Can work as a team member, being receptive to feedback and have the willingness to learn and share knowledge and skills.
