CORE PURPOSE OF JOB
|
To teach Curriculum Studies at undergraduate and postgraduate level, to supervise research students and conduct appropriate research in Education, Teacher Education and in Curriculum Studies as an area of specialisation. To contribute to faculty administration as required.

- Expert knowledge of theory and applications in Education, Teacher Education and in Curriculum Studies as an area of specialisation.
- Active engagement in sustained research projects (self-initiated or as part of a research team).
- Publishing regularly and extensively in accredited national and international journals; and regularly contribute to books, book chapters and conference proceedings.
- Active presentation of research papers at academic and professional conferences nationally and increasingly at international level.
- Contributing to an exceptional body of scholarly work, sustained over time that contributes meaningfully to the discipline.
- Generate work that is original in idea and/or execution, enjoy national and international recognition and contribute to critical debate in the field.
- Must have successfully supervised a substantial number of M and D candidates, with some of these research results having made a significant contribution with regard to knowledge creation.
- Must have successfully mentored less experienced colleagues regarding preparation of publications, grant applications, and have offered training workshops/seminars.
- Must have successfully provided leadership in establishing/sustaining a research culture that promotes high quality researchers and research.
- Conducting scholarly work with an increasing focus on Africanization and decolonization of the curriculum.

REQUIREMENTS
|
|
- 7 years teaching experience at an institution of higher education
- A PhD in Education
- Proven research record
- Experience in supervising M and D students
- Preferably has at least a C NRF rating
