Job description
We are looking for a driven and motivated project administrator who will provide administrative support for the engagement portfolio at Innovate Durban. Acting as administrative support in the coordination between multiple projects/programmes, ensuring that it aligns and supports the organisation’s strategic goals and that all programmes deliver the desirable outcome.
- Programme administration on multiple projects/programmes that fall under engagement portfolio
- Support the organisation projects/programmes and activities with the mission and goals of the organisation
- Support in the development of projects/programmes that support the organisation’s strategic direction and objectives
- Support the administration activities of cross-project activities
- Support programme/project long-term goals
- Ensure goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality and team member performance
- Administration for workshops/engagements
- Administration activities for the Innovator Support Portfolio, including, but not limited to tracking of all innovator engagements
- Scheduling and updating of activities
- Marketing the programme and projects
- Actively monitor and evaluate performance associated with the organisation and programme/project M&E framework
- Support in building new partnerships for programmes and projects
- Support in maintaining existing partnerships
- Liaising with stakeholders from time to time under the supervision of the Programme Lead
- Monitoring stakeholder engagements and provide suggestions/recommendations for improved stakeholder relations
- Admin duties associated with tracking of project/programme budgets
- Sourcing of quotations and liaising with service providers from time to time
- Administration and reporting activities for project/programmes as they arise
- Ensuring that all plans and activities are on track and running according to schedule
- Provide input and coordinate all reporting requirements for project and programmes and associated activities
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements
- A diploma is a minimum requirement with a bachelor’s degree being advantageous.
- We are looking for someone with an evident interest in innovation and socio-economic development
- Excellent project administration skills are essential
- Excellent minute-taking and the ability to handle multiple projects/programme is essential
- Previous experience working in an innovation, socio-economic development space is advantageous
- Research and monitoring and evaluation experience is advantageous.
The successful candidate will be someone who is highly motivated, willing to go the extra mile, takes initiative, manages their time effectively and is flexible.
The candidate will be required to work on weekends or afterhours if the projects demand such time, but this is on an ad hoc basis. Driver’s license is essential. The candidate needs to be highly proficient in MS Office, with specific reference to Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
