Project Engineer – Temp (MPE – Final Assembly)

Job requirements :

• Strictly a National Diploma or Degree in Mechatronics /Electrical / Electronic Engineering or relevant engineering qualification
• 3 year’s relevant experience in automotive production processes and facilities
• Computer skills (MS Outlook, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, MS Word , Excel)
• Detailed knowledge of project management
• Ability to communicate at all levels
• Ability to work within a team and must be able to work under pressure
• Proven analytical skills with an innovative approach to problem-solving
• Ability to compile detailed investment studies and project control plans
• Have a valid driver’s license

Duties :

• Taking responsibility for all assigned project planning activities during a project introduction on a selected production line with the focus to achieve quality, cost and scheduled targets.
• Managing technical data and facilities.
• Project management of new product and facility introductions including critical path analysis and timing controls.
• Planning the introduction of new models and model facility changes in Assembly.
• Developing innovative improvements to the existing systems within Assembly.
• Supervising installations of equipment and machinery (mechanical and electrical) and ensure that all production and quality requirements are met.
• Frequently liaising with external suppliers and internal customers.
• Using software computer tools and systems to do layouts, track projects, presentations, SPC analysis, FMEA’s etc.

Skills and other attributes

• In-depth knowledge of line automation
• Should have a strong aptitude for system and process design
• Knowledge of vehicle electrics / electronics architecture
• Must be flexible, self-driven and be a team player
• Must be able to work under pressure with proven analytical skills and innovative approach to problem-solving
