A La Lucia Ridge-based agency is searching for a proofreader extraordinaire to join its creative team. That’s one talented individual capable of maintaining his/her cool under proofing pressure.

The successful applicant will ideally have his/her own transport. He/she must possess an eagle eye and the ability to work across various mediums. An understanding of website and social media lingo would be a distinct advantage. A sense of humour is a must, as is a fierce appetite for work. So, if you’re a team player, with the urge to hyphenate when in doubt, are always looking to learn and believe your red pen is a weapon to be used to save the world from bad spelling, punctuation and grammar, you may well be who we are seeking.

Responsibilities: Research for various communications materials; Ensure accuracy of English spelling, punctuation and grammar, with regard to copy; Review general layout of material for alignment, spacing, justification, line compression, editing and the like; Undertake project research for clients/various projects/campaigns; Conduct administrative duties from time to time; Work alongside graphic designers and account executives, from concept to production; Undertake overtime work from time-to-time.

Requirements

Requirements: An exceptional understanding of the English language and excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation capabilities;

Accuracy and absolute attention to detail; A relevant qualification from a recognised institution and a minimum of three years’ experience at a reputable ad agency or similar; A keen sense of time management, especially when faced with tight deadlines; Superior inter-personal communication skills; Humility; An ability to multi-task and move seamlessly between proofing different projects; Your own transport – as a distinct advantage.
