Sales Representative (packaging)
Company Profile:
The company offers a comprehensive range of light packaging solutions for the retail and food services industry, and also manufactures paper bags, folding cartons and tissue products. The Sales Representative will be required to promote and sell these products to various clients, within the East London area, as well as the Transkei up to Mthatha. Travel may include as far as Queenstown and Grahamstown / Port Alfred. The successful candidate will report directly to the Sales and Operations Manager, as well as in-directly to the Branch Manager.
Responsibilities:
• Meeting monthly and annual sales targets, and gross profit targets
– Selling and Marketing of the Company’s range of products to the market
– Must adapt to company order systems
– Servicing existing accounts
– Aggressively developing new markets
– Handling sales related calls, queries and associated administrative duties
– Stock management and order processing
– Ad-hoc deliveries when required
– Servicing Customer needs
– Good knowledge of bakery, butchery and deli products
– Taking physical stock counts of customer at store level
Minimum requirements:
– Must have driver’s license and own reliable vehicle (essential).
– Matric / Equivalent (essential); Tertiary in Sales / Marketing advantageous but not essential
– Minimum of 2 – 5 years sales experience in the packaging industry or equivalent
– Fluency in English, with Xhosa and Afrikaans being advantageous
– Experience in dealing with corporate and independent accounts
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, work well to deadlines and be highly goal oriented; be energetic and self-motivated
– High level of accuracy and standards of quality in work and dealings with customers
– Must have Professional customer service orientation
– Computer Literacy would be essential
