Reporting to: Executive manager

S/he will work closely with the Executive Manager as well as with analysts in their assigned sector; playing a vital role in contributing to the investment performance of the Client. The sector manager specialist will provide general research support to the Equity Research analysts and associates on the investment teams.

Responsibilities include:

• Gathering important industry data,
• Graphing industry trends,
• Streamlining data collection and processing,
• And helping analysts and associates with various projects to support stock-specific and industry presentations.

The associate sector specialist will also work closely with other sector specialists, industry sources and industry contacts, market data and research services, and the technology end user development team in order to gain important insights, knowledge, and tools to provide the highest level of support to the research process.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem solving skills
• The ability to work independently as well as in a team environment with multiple analysts
• The ability to coordinate multiple simultaneous projects
• Experience in sourcing, manipulating and presenting data
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills including macros and an aptitude for technology
• Experience with Bloomberg and FactSet
• Demonstrated experience/interest/skill in quantitative analysis and research
• The ability to work with external information sources (analysts, companies, consultants)
• Programming experience is a plus
