Our client, a leading solutions provider of screen and digital printing supplies, seeks to recruit a senior bookkeeper to join their dynamic team. The right candidate will be responsible managing all financial activities and processes. The company offers an excellent package, with flexible hours and market-related benefits.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage all financial aspects of the company and report directly to the directors
- Accounts
- Import bank statement into Pastel
- Reconcile cashbook to bank account
- Process petty cash cashbook, depreciation and credit card journals
- Reconcile credit card cashbook to credit card statements
- VAT201 submissions bi-monthly
Creditors:
- Reconcile creditor accounts
- Place stock orders with local and foreign suppliers
- Arrange collection/delivery/shipping (in case of foreign orders) for supplier orders
- Capture creditors in Pastel
- Process all related company journals, payments including foreign payments and forex profit/loss journals on foreign creditor accounts
- Capture Reject Garment stock in Excel and process debit note to supplier
Debtors:
- Reconcile debtor accounts
- Process field reports and invoices
- Update invoice/credit note/debit note batches
- Process interest Journal monthly
- Debt collection (cash sales and account customers)
- Process and send customer statements monthly
- Sales reporting
- Manage and advise directors on stock movement and controls
Inventory:
- Inventory control
- Create stock codes for new products
- Create new bill of materials
- Process monthly stock usage and transfer journals
- Prepare for stock takes
- Capture stock take values and reconcile stock
- Ensure that the companies financial records and reporting is constantly up to date
- Prepare information, cash flows and budgets for annual growth initiatives
- Provide accurate accounts and financial reports so as to allow for fast informed decisions to be made
- Human Resources
- Process salaries monthly on Payroll software and distribute payslips
- Attend to EMP201 submission to SARS monthly
- Attend to EMP501 submission to SARS as required
Qualification and experience:
- Matric plus tertiary qualification in a financial field (advantageous)
- Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role
Key competencies:
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Computer literate and experienced with Pastel
- Organised and highly efficient
- Bring innovative and efficient financial planning to the company
- Be interested in the company’s activities and entrepreneurial in the approach to the company’s growth
- Advise the directors on efficient financial practices ensuring optimal performance results as well as long-term growth planning and implementation
