We are looking forward to receiving applications from super-talented and experienced (at least seven years) designers and illustrators to join our creative agency. Agency experience is essential. You must be passionate about the power of content to tell stories on behalf of brands. Please make sure you send the following:

Your duties will include:

• Receiving design briefs alongside creative directors and account managers
• Researching and understanding client’s marketing strategy and corporate identity in order to create unique designs that answer brief and communication objectives
• Illustrating concepts by designing rough layouts of art and copy, regarding arrangement, size and style, and related aesthetic concepts  
• Creating final designs, working to a deadline and budget
• Offering creative and design input as necessary

Requirements

• Illustration – must be able to illustrate by hand and electronically 
• Brand or agency experience working on major projects from conceptualisation to delivery
• Strategic thinker – must be able to deliver work that solves business and brand problems
• Be passionate about great design
• Have a strong understanding of good aesthetics
• Full knowledge and fluency of Adobe Creative Cloud
• Fluency in MS Office programs
• Ability to work to a brief and fulfill it
• Ability to work under pressure and turn around work very quickly
• High attention to detail
• Able to lead the creative process at different stages for projects including idea generation
• An understanding of social media
• Must have a desire to learn and grow and share learnings and guidance with younger designers 
• Self-starter, proactive and owns their projects from start to finish
• Must be able to work alone, in a team and be willing to prove your creative worth
• Must be able to take critique and apply it back into your work
• Must understand design trends and be obsessed with creating unique, outstanding creative work
• Be comfortable interacting with and presenting to clients
• Stickler for deadlines and punctuality
• Multi-cultural, curious and passionate about South Africans and its different cultures

Advantageous

• DTP or magazine background – must be a designer first
• Web design ability
• Photography
• Understanding of print process
• Passionate about African design 
• Animation, coding or other skills up your sleeve
