Job description

A position available for an experienced interior sales consultant at Block and Chisel interiors in Illovo.

Only persons with a minimum of five years’ furniture retail experience on a senior level will be considered.

Working experience with the interior decorating trade will be and advantage.

The person will be responsible for the following duties:

Sales generation

• Contributes to the achievement of the store’s sales budget by:
• Ensuring each customer is provided with a unique buying experience.
• Ensuring all telephonic customers are treated professionally and with care.

Administration

• Processing all sales transactions on the computer accurately.
• Completing daily cash-ups on computer system and manual procedure.
• Follow up on order/sale, while in process, until the items are delivered to customer and customer satisfied.
• Process appros and quotes on the computer system.
• Follow up on customer orders placed and communicate to customer.
• Maintaining filing system as per company standard.
• Assist with scheduled stock takes.

Merchandising

• Ensures that company merchandising standards are adhered to.

Security

Requirements

• A minimum of five years’ retail experience required.
• Must be available to work on week-ends and public holidays.
• Previous experience in a similar environment (furniture/interior decorating sector) is a prerequisite.
• Computer literacy a must, with previous experience on Cistech point of sale will be advantageous.
• Have a successful track record in achieving sales targets and stock control.
• Have a good understanding of retail admin procedures.
