An exciting career opportunity exists in Grahamstown, Eastern Cape for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor in the Anthropology Department within the Higher Education environment. If you have the following behavioural competency and experience, we look forward to receiving your application.
Candidates should have at least a PhD in Anthropology or closely related field. Evidence of successfully supervised students to completion is required. In addition, evidence of empirical research in the field resulting in successful output is required.
Professor:
- A PhD in Anthropology or closely related field. A record of book publications and articles in academically refereed international journals, extensive teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, evidence of sustained record of supervision at the PhD level, as well as, responsible administrative experience in the academic field are required. NRF rating will be an advantage.
Associate Professor:
- A PhD degree, a record of book publications and articles in academically refereed international journals, considerable teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, a sustained record of supervision at the PhD level, as well as, responsible administrative experience in the academic field are required. Participation in international research projects is further welcome.
Senior Lecturer:
- A PhD degree, a credible record of publications in academically refereed international journals, extensive teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, a record of supervision at the Masters level and preferably at PhD level, as well as administrative experience in the academic field are required.
Lecturer:
- A PhD in Anthropology or closely related field with teaching experience. Ability to teach in the following disciplinary areas: biological anthropology with a knowledge in genetics. Evidence of research supervision required
