Shift Millwright
Our client, a leading supplier of aluminium and machined components for the automotive and engineering sectors is seeking a Millwright to join their team.
Open position : Shift Millwright
Location : Port Elizabeth
Type : Permanent position
Reporting to : Engineering Superintendent
Working hours : Shift work (6:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 / 22:00-6:00)
The ideal candidate must meet the following requirements:
Educational and Training :
– Trade tested Millwright (Mechanical and Electrical)
– N3 qualification
– 3 to 5 years practical experience
– Certificate / qualification in supervisory management will be an advantage
Experience :
– PLC experience (Siemens)
– Understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics and the position of encoders for setup
– Knowledge of Siemens touch and KISTLER controls
– Installation of machinery and equipment
– Knowledge of motor control and drives
– Fault finding on CNC machines (mechanical and electrical)
– Replacement of balls screws, pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders on CNC machines
– Programming and setup of laser marking machines
– Knowledge of compressors
– Able to perform minor welding tasks
Additional job requirements :
– Available to work after hours and occasional callouts when required after shift
– Good hand-eye coordination
-Tolerance for stress, ability to work under deadline pressure
– Safety awareness and dedicated team member
Duties :
– Fault finding / programme Siemens S7 PLC’s
– Troubleshooting
– Inspections of equipment
– Performing allocated tasks during production change overs
– Maintain and monitor process security system as per production schedule
– Ensuring that work is performed in accordance with relevant safe working procedures
– Determine and set zero points on assembly equipment
– Maintain machine downtime to an acceptable level
– Ensure that strategic spares are kept
– Install and maintain mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems and equipment
– Planned and preventative maintenance and where necessary instruct contractors on work to be carried out
– Setup and monitoring of Leak test units (ATEQ) and measuring equipment (KISTLER presses and torque tools)
