Job description

Job purpose: 

The social media specialist will work directly with the digital manager to manage strategy and delivery of all social media campaigns. The candidate will be responsible for the operational, day to day management of the online communities for the organisation; from creating monthly schedules, briefing of artwork, social media paid marketing management to daily monitoring of platforms. 

Brand South Africa aims to contribute to the objectives of the National Development Plan (NDP) by managing South Africa’s Nation Brand reputation in order improve the country’s global attractiveness and competitiveness.

Minimum requirements: 

• Degree or equivalent in IT, marketing, media or communications – ideally with specialisation in digital marketing 
• Five years’ social media management and content marketing experience 
• Strong knowledge of digital marketing 
• Strong project management and organisational skills 
• Creative writing, copy editing, basic image editing 
• Working knowledge of how to determine value from a customer perspective 
• Solid agency experience
