Job description
A private education provider is seeking to employ a social media strategist at their head office in Pinetown.
The successful incumbent must meet the minimum requirements set out in this advert:
- Overall management of all social media platforms for the group.
Content
Creating content structure/strategy for SM (content schedule) by:
- Writing copy for SM for all brands across all platforms
- Four posts per day for FB
- Seven tweets/per day/brand
- Four Instagram posts/per day/brand
- One LinkedIn post/day/brand
- The more posts per day, better images lead to higher engagement, social identity/for brand
- Tweets also better if images are included in all
Design/images
Assist and aid in:
- Sourcing images
- Designing social media content
Research
Researching innovative and relevant ways to revalorise social:
- Content – substance/quality
- Images/brand/platform/copy
- Brand researching
- Social research (social post schedule) latest in what #trending on social
- Find new, ‘smarter’, innovative ways of implementing social for agency and clients
- Brainstorming and collaborating with clients and agency
Strategy
Creating social campaign strategy:
- Research
- Stats
- Drafting out strategy and structure
- Generating ideas/concepts
- Budget
- Preparing presentations
- Presenting to client
Proposals
Creating proposals for:
- SM campaigns and brand
- Expansion of social for brands
- Marketing brand on social
- Implementation of budget for proposals
Reports
- Reports on performance of social for brands and competitors to clients and agency
- Preparing comparison reports for each brand weekly and feedback reporting to departments about performance of content
- Organic – generate reports per brand per platform and then breakdown with summary –what have we done how to improve, etc.
- Paid – generate reports per brand per platform and then breakdown with summary –what have we done how to improve, etc.
- Budget – how much to spend
- Engagement – effects post impact as well
Monitoring
- Weekly monitoring to ensure that all SM platforms are up to date and running appropriately
- Back-end stats and boosted posts
Communication
- Liaising with various teams, departments, clients to keep in touch
- Brainstorming with various teams to include in strategy and content – PR, blogs, design, brand, copy
Student/alumni
- Contacting various people for work and profiles to feature on social – difference between profiling with story and creating a lockup
Coordinating material
Coordinating all social material from conception to finish:
Posting
Actual implementation of posts across all SM platforms for all brands:
- Posting all content, once finally approved by all on all platforms on all brands
Requirements
- Preferably a degree in marketing/journalism
- Design qualification in Photoshop
- Knowledge of SEO
- Three to four years of social media management
- Copy writing for social/digital media
