Big bank, very cool engineering lead role. Pretty deep analytics, ETL and integration platform build.

We need a technically astute person to run the data engineering team.

Your role:

• Will cover tech, functional and operational duties
• You will code in a POC and mentoring capacity
• Your main task is to manage delivery – architecture, design, guide and strategies
• A mix of tech leadership, line management and delivery management
• You will guide both the SQL team as well as the C# app dev team, with the help of two leads

Requirements

They are solutionists, rather than just maintaining a massive EDW. You will build, automate and run many API style solutions covering the SQL DB, analytics, integration as well as visualisation. There’s lots of new work on the go, the business constantly needs tech platforms.

Their priorities:

• They need you to have established, managerial and tech lead skills. TWo to four years’ experience
• 10 years software production experience
• Their preference is for someone from the BI/Data/SQL world with some C#
• Experience working on multiple platforms, not one stable Enterprise platform
• Depth of SQL knowledge through BI, SQL Engineering and DBA functions

Tech we’re hoping you will be familiar with:

• SQL Server 2014/2016
• T-SQL, Stored Procs, DB Design – important, they’re engineering in SQL
• SSIS – they tend to be using SSIS packages at times but the bulk of the work is deeper SQL build.
• Optimisation – of code, not farms or traditional BI
• Some C#/MVC/JavaScript – not guru level knowledge but you will be running this team as well.
• Data integration
• Your clients will be quants, modellers and analytics. You need precision in thought and code.
