DNA Brand Architects is looking for a Strategic Planning Director to define our business’s direction and develop plans to realise our business objectives. You will help us maintain our competitive advantage and allocate resources appropriately.

Strategic thinking is the most important skill in this role. You should also be analytical with strong organisational abilities. If you also have experience in market research and business operations, we’d like to meet you.

Ultimately, you will help our business adapt to changes and grow.

Responsibilities:

• Understand and shape the business’s strategy and mission;
• Develop plans to materialise strategy and analyse business proposals;
• Research competition to identify threats and opportunities;
• Assess the business’s operational and strategic performance;
• Align processes, resources-planning and department goals with overall strategy;
• Provide support and insight into significant organisational changes (e.g. shift in strategic focus, mergers and acquisitions);
• Educate senior executives in making effective decisions;
• Construct forecasts and analytical models;
• Monitor and analyse industry trends and market changes;
• Identify opportunities for brand innovation/growth, promote strategies that provide a competitive advantage, and influence plans to implement these opportunities in partnership with clients.
• Lead strategic planning, set and advocate for internal and external goals;
• Define, track, and communicate metrics around new initiatives, comparing to previous outcomes;
• Manage strategic planning team daily and lead organisation-wide strategy meetings;
• Identify and communicate risks and opportunities and generate plans to address each;
• Develop, analyse, and communicate business models to guide business decisions, promoting data-driven strategic change.

Requirements and Skills:

• Proven experience as a Strategic Planner or Business Consultant; 
• Understanding of market research and data analysis;
• Knowledge of business operations and procedures; 
• Demonstrable strategic thinking abilities;
• Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude; 
• leadership skills;
• Excellent communication skills; 
• BSc/BA in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance or a related field; MSc/MA/MBA is a plus;
• Self-motivated and independent;
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written);
• Proven track record of managing cross-functional, matrixed teams;
• Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects;
• Proven experience in execution ability to bring strategy and analysis to a tactical level and get projects started and drive to completion;
• Demonstrated ability to lead without authority;
• Comfort operating in a highly regulated environment and industry;
• High ethical standards and personal integrity.
