The data analyst is responsible for all the operational department reporting with a specific focus on inbound and outbound support contacts, financial and player behavioural data and metrics. This includes reporting on territory, brand and product level.
The data analyst is also required to provide guidance, strategic and economic suggestions and recommendations on drivers of influence within the contact centre, the risk and payments team, marketing and acquisitions. It is also the responsibility of the analyst to investigate data anomalies and outlier to explain irregular activity.
Key outputs
Complex data extraction and manipulation
Data analysis:
o Analyse inbound and outbound support contacts, financial and player behavioural data and other data as requested by management o Identify and highlight any trends or other abnormalities presented by the data
Convert existing reporting tools to a standardized reporting infrastructure
Design the reports and or dashboards to display the required data in a manner that is user-friendly.
Investigation of new and innovative ways to enhance and update current processes
Design custom alerts for the Contact Centre, the Risk and Payments teams
Writing of Regular Reports:
o Compile daily, weekly and monthly standard reports
Investigate any anomalies and report back to business on results
Identify and implement reports to help Account Managers with analysis on campaigns
Includes suggestion on how to improve campaigns (based on identified trends and player behaviour)
Analyse reports to provide guidance and recommendations on what drivers’ influence volume growth on a brand and product level
Make strategic and economic suggestions for new/exclusive offer development and offer enhancements
Ensure on-going focus on the business process review and enhancements
Data analysis, review of anomalies and outliers to explain irregular activity:
Analyse inbound and outbound support contacts, financial and player behavioural data and other data as requested by management
Identify, highlight and investigate any unusual items or other abnormalities presented by the data and provide a report describing any important trend or shift, across all products and business areas
Inform team and have open communication about data issues/problems as a result of BI
Management of all Month-end reporting:
Includes reviewing and redesigning and implementing of reporting templates
Initiate investigations into untapped data where potential value or new measures exist
Find new innovative ways to report on key metrics or dig deeper to find the drivers of the
activity.
Requirements
Essential knowledge
Statistical, actuarial, applied mathematics or similar qualification, or significant appropriate work experience.
Preferred but not essential knowledge:
Internet Risk or Fraud, data profiling, financial statistical experience is preferred.
Skills:
Highly analytical – ability to translate business questions into numerical operations, and interpret the numerical result into commercial insight.
Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
Comfortable with building and using large complex spreadsheets.
SQL query writing will be most beneficial, or will have to be learnt on the job.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
