Established company is looking for a Fiber Technician . Duties among others include . • Normal Fiber tech duties (splicing, testing)
• Normal Data tech duties.
• Determine the scope of work, materials and tools required to complete the project, and incorporate these into the predetermined timelines
• Supervise the team and ensure the completion of work in accordance with the project plan
• Fault finding, troubleshooting and implementation of corrective procedures to ensure that the installation and quality standards are met
• Identify potential delays due to problems that may occur and report back on possible solutions
• Provide project status feedback to the Clients and Management on regular basis. Requirements: • It will be expected of this person to work after hours if need be
• Will have to learn electrical trade.
• Will sometimes be out in the country for 2 weeks at a time
• Passport advantage .
• Drivers License essential • Grade 12.
• Must be able to use the test equipment and interpret results on entry level testing
• Must understand the correct wiring specifications for the relevant cabling systems
• Must have knowledge of Certification Tester
