Job description
Key outputs/accountability
- Must contribute to overall sound of the station by quality controlling what comes out of the speaker including audio levels, quality of telephone lines made by callers & general quality of audio. This includes completing necessary pre-show preparation including:
- Check whether the studio is ready
- Control the desk which to ensure that the programming content is broadcast to the station’s programming format and professional standard
- Ensure that all the commercials are broadcast, including any competitions or other promotions scheduled from time to time. To this effect, she should mark the commercial logs to mark spots that were played
- Log fault reports where necessary
- Compile PRS logs for the Programme, if any music was broadcast during the Programme
- Pre-record and edit interviews as and when required
- Cut and upload podcasts and promos on a daily basis
- Record live reads
- Contribute content ideas to the show

Requirements
- Diploma in Sound Engineering or any other relevant qualification.
- Previous experience in controlling at either commercial or community radio stations
- Basic computer literacy including word processing, internet, e-mail and other broadcast programmes such as phonebox, and sms line
- An innate understanding of studio equipment and programmes, i.e Genesys, telephone and playout systems, studio/audio desk
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to work across multiple platforms
