The position provides high level technical support to the business on all aspects of the client systems, with a primary focus on product hardware support, deployment and implementation.

The opportunity acts as a bridge between Research and Development, and Technical to assist in growing delivery of tailored hardware/technical/report requirements.

The applicant will be responsible for:

• Addressing, investigating and driving to conclusion, technical queries from Sales, CRM and other staff – These queries often involve data analysis, primarily focused on hardware, but also on software applications
• Assisting to test and evaluate the behaviour and operation of new hardware devices
• Conducting routine checks on critical systems to ensure proper operation of various systems
• The logging and managing of support tickets on system defects
• Creating and managing client configurations and scripts – This includes ensuring proper hardware configuration assignment as part of the sales order flow process
• Assisting to investigate and document technical requirements arising from customer/business needs statements
• Provide guidance to the Technical Assistant on day-to-day tasks

Skills:

• Minimum three years’ experience in a technical support role
• A highly analytical approach to problem solving
• Good technical communication skills, both written and spoken
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage tasks from initiation to conclusion.
• Exposure to embedded systems and/or electronic devices is essential. E.g. microcontrollers, PLCs, Adruino, Pasberry Pi, etc.
• An high degree of computer literacy
• Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
• Advanced Microsoft Excel abilities to manipulate data and create business reports

The following skills/experience will be advantages for any candidate:

• A good understanding of Microsoft SQL allowing for data extraction and manipulation.
• Exposure to SQL Server Reporting Services.
• Previous exposure to basic web development.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Visual Basic scripting.
