Full project management from Initiation to Close-out.
Control professional and technical processes associated with provision of Engineering services to internal/external clients through the provision of guidance and advice on the formulation of proposals and design concepts and contract and project management of basic and average complexity type of broadly-defined engineering works with moderate levels of impact in order to ensure objectives and established outcomes are accomplished in accordance with the agreed terms, specifications, costs and standards of quality.

Duties include the following, but not limited to:
Tendering:
- Prepare a proposed program for the project
- Prepare and review tender and contract documentation
Assessments and design:
- Highly computer literate
- Receive survey from surveyor
- Create a module using Civil software
- Conduct detailed visual surveys and report on them
- Detailed design of relative engineering services
- Generate relative engineering services drawings
- Develop engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts and sketches
- Generate a plan for the CAD operator’s layout drawing which shows the detail
- Generate detail drawings
- Keep up to date with the latest technologies and software to aid in the design aspects associated with transportation engineering
- Prepare and present technical reports
- Finalize the design
Documentation:
- Prepare a schedule of quantities
- Prepare and review of tender documentation
- Prepare Final Contract Documentation
- Develop detailed designs, compilation and revision of drawings, documents, letters and reports
- Evaluate of tender proposals and reporting on the findings
- Calculate quantities
- Do a cost estimate
- Assist in developing engineering specifications and drawings
Production:
- Complete projects on time, within budget and achieve Client Satisfaction
- Ensure the use of the company standards and procedures in executing projects
- Charge-ability: Secured projects 80%
- Project implementation including construction monitoring and supervision, contract administration and quality assurance, to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
- Conduct or supervise inspection and test construction materials
- Supervise, monitor, and inspect construction projects
Quality Management and Cost Control:
- Follow and maintain project filing structure
- Store and keep record of project data
- Time management

- Ensure that all design information is filed correctly both electronically and hard copies
- Ensure data security and proper management of company assets
- Ensure that work is booked correctly on time-sheets
- Detailed cost estimate
Internal processes:
- Complete time sheets, claims and administration correctly and on time
Administration:
- Provide all admin input as required
- Compile and price tenders for the purpose of acquiring new work
- Ensure all filing is done (hard and/or soft copy) according to the clients current Quality Management System
Learning and development:
- Mentoring junior personnel (if required)
- Maintain Professional Registration
- Provide internal training to junior personnel
- Attend at least one CPD accredited seminar/course/workshop (minimum 1 CPD points) per year
Communication:
- Communicating and liaising effectively with cients, colleagues and other professionals involved on the project
- Ensure effective and professional communication throughout the project life cycle
General:
- Confidentiality
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the Management Services department
- Perform duties commensurate with the responsibilities of the roles and ad hoc projects as required from time to time
- Cooperate and comply with internal and external regulations
- Comply with data protection guidelines
- Understand and support the aims and objectives of the department to ensure these are reflected in the delivery of the role
- Contribute to the identification of Departmental objectives for the short-, medium- and long-term in developing and implementing the company’s Business Strategy
- To attend training as required for your role
- To attend regular team meetings and briefing sessions for staff
- To attend regular 1 to 1’s and annual appraisal meetings with your manager
- Provide cover for other members in the department during holidays, sickness or other absences and in emergencies
- Promote the client in a positive and professional manner
- Comply with company policies and procedures as well as all applicable legislation i.e. BMS, ISO Standards, Disciplinary Code, etc.
Requirements:
- Five to ten years of relative experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Code 08 Driver’s License
- Registered as a Professional Engineering Technologist at ECSA
- Registered as candidate for a Professional Engineering Technologist at ECSA
