GREAT NURSING OPPORTUNITIES AT NETCARE CHRISTIAAN BARNARD HOSPITAL

REQUIREMENTS:

• Up to date, paid up registration with SANC with relevant qualifications for your nursing specialist discipline
• Relevant and practical experience as an Theatre Nurse is essential
• Additional Theatre trained qualification essential where requirement is stated
• A Post Grad qualification in Theatre Nursing Science essential where requirement is state
• Able to work flexible shift work hours

x3 RN IN SCRUB – 2 to 3 YEARS THEATRE EXPERIENCE (PREFERABLY EXPERIENCED IN CARDIAC OR VASCULAR -THEATRE TECHINIQUE ESSENTIAL)

• Responsible for the surgical instruments, equipment and swabs in Theatre for various surgery processes
• Prepare all the necessary instruments and equipment including microscopes, lasers, endoscope etc
• Work with the surgeon to provide instruments, needles, swabs and other materials as required
• Act as a link between the surgical team and other parts of the theatre and hospital

X1 RN or X 1EN IN ANAESTHETIC – EXPERIENCE/TRAINED

• Apply effective, proactive risk prevention and risk management processes, systems and decisions
• Maintain a therapeutic, clean and safe environment that is free from medico-legal hazards
• Responsible to ensure correct use, cleaning and storage of equipment identified, report equipment needing repair or replacement

x9 EN’s and / or ENA’s IN THEATRE – EXPERIENCED IN FLOORING AND ANAESTHETICS

• Offer excellent patient care and counseling
• Provide safe, clean and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors
• Liaise with CNS and managers on matters relating to the patient’s care
• Ensure accurate record keeping and billing of patients
• Communicate with patients and family regarding patient care and inform UM of all relevant information including challenges and / or problems

x1 RN GIT – EXPERIENCED AND SKILLED

• Manage operational requirements in the Gastroenterology theatres, keep abreast of current research in the discipline
• Ensure all stock is well controlled and managed, charged and credited appropriately
• Maintain a therapeutic, clean and safe working environment in accordance with the Machinery and Occupational Safety Act
• Responsible for ensuring correct use, cleaning, storage of equipment, report equipment needing repair or replacement
