Our client who specialises in wholesale and distribution of Frozen Foods, is seeking a Trader to join their team in Durban, Kwazulu-Natal.

Job Title: Trader (Wholesale / Foods)

Geographical area: Durban, Kwazulu-Natal

Salary range: R 40 000.00 – R 60 000.00 CTC pm

The successful incumbent will be responsible for:

• Achieve sales and margin targets on a consistent basis within parameters
• Understand supply chain and its impact on customers
• Proven capability of building strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders
• Thorough knowledge of all meat products across all species but with a red meat focus
• Must have a thorough understanding of foods industry
• Research and analyse trading options
• Negotiate pricing with customers.
• To communicate market conditions, margins achieved, and market forecast to the senior management.
• Maintain existing and develop new customer base.
• Predominantly the negotiating and selling of imported and local foods
• Secure new business with customers while maintaining existing established clients
• Ensure that any relevant wholesale market, model, benchmarks, trends, competitor, and customer insights are communicated back to senior management
• Provide technical support on product specifications and assist in the development of new products for the local market
• Follow market trends and implement trading practices to increase sales revenues
• Ensure the delivery and logistical operations of the business are developed to meet customer expectations
• Keep track of invoices and prepare reports to expedite the billing process
• Managing own client base
• Manage chilled and frozen foods sales in your portfolio of clients
• Undertake daily customer calls and processing of orders

Minimum qualifications and experience:

• Matric
• Valid drivers’ licence
• 5 Years’ experience in the FMCG Foods Industry
• 2-5 Years’ experience in trading
