Warehouse Manager – East London
Our client who prides themselves in innovation and authenticity is currently looking for a talented Warehouse Manager to form part of their dynamic team working in the East London area.
DUTIES:
- Directing an experienced Warehouse Team in daily work flow and logistic processes;
- Controlling and Monitoring high value inventory, ensuring adequate stock level;
- Managing all Warehouse expenditure through accurate budgeting and forecasting of the overall Warehouse costings;
- Ensuring all daily stock counts are conducted as required in terms of procedure;
- Investigating all material stock variances, and give explanations to Operations Manager for variances timeously;
- Performing spot checks on counts on a daily basis to ensure counts are correct;
- Ensuring stock transfers are recorded accurately and completely, this includes making sure the correct product, size, flavor and batch is documented;
- Ensuring that all transfers required for night picking are completed by 5pm, or if production is running late, that the necessary stock is transferred in time to be loaded; Communication with the crating manager is key in this area
- Communicating regularly with production to ensure a smooth transfer operation;
- Ensuring that stock is correctly rotated, and that the oldest stock (unless short dated) is sent out first; All stock to be pack up 8 high to maximize space
- Ensuring that the Sales Managers is timeously informed of all stock potentially becoming short dated and follow up on movement of this stock out of the fridge, to ensure no loss to company;
- Ensuring that only products with sufficient shelf life are picked for loading – no short dated stock to be picked or loaded, unless specifically authorised/ordered;
- Ensuring that all transfers are made by 5pm for that night’s loading;
- Ensuring that only stock per the loadsheet is loaded (no overloading, no short loading)
- Ensuring that loading is completed in time to allow for dispatch on time (as per agreed timelines for different regions);
- Ensuring that loadsheet documentation is completed properly; and signed off by Supervisors
- All Sitrep must be filled in and emailed for the different regions
- Ensuring that picking, issuing and loading against loadsheets are as per computer generated invoices only;
- Ensuring that the Team Leader records and reports the time taken to load every truck. This information is to be recorded on the activity report;
- Managing and controlling staff to ensure trucks are leaving on time;
- Ensuring that shunter driver is on site to check in all vehicles on their return;
- Ensuring that all stock items returned are correctly counted and classified (as good stock, damaged stock and returns);
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping at all times. (Clean drains, clean floor, proper stacking of product, walkways, pathways for pallet jacks); All Paperwork filled out and signed;
- Making sure that health and safety procedures are followed;
- Making sure that fridge temperatures are recorded and maintained at the correct level;
- Staffing compliment, attendance register, staff control and proper utilization during working hours;
- Disciplinary management in accordance with company disciplinary procedures;
- Communicate all relevant information/instruction to staff members on time;
- Ensuring that only authorised staff are given staff transport and that specific routes are followed.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- At least Grade 12 and minimum 3 years Warehouse managing experience;
- Vast warehouse/dispatch managing experience in the FMCG environment;
- Knowledge of HACCP basic;
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing principles;
- Time and accuracy driven;
- Good computer skills ( excel / word / emails );
- Code 10 licence will be to your advantage;
- Excellent written and communication skills;
- Great attention to detail and a results driven approach
