Our client has a new opportunity for a Warehouse Team Leader
Daily Responsibilities
- Manage Inbound/Outbound Stock Movement
- Ensure customer expectations are met on time and in full, by inspiring your team to follow operational processes, maintain stock accuracy and load/unload vehicles promptly
- Monitor warehouse capacity and deal with issues before operational problems arise
- Monitor your team’s performance throughout the shift, making tactical decisions to optimise service levels without overspending the budget
- As a Warehouse Team Leader, you will direct and supervise all warehouse activities in your designated area
- In this key role, you’ll assign staff tasks to ensure contract coverage and effectively manage the fulfilment of our customer requirements
Specifically, you will:
- Be responsible for the overall productivity within your designated team
- Actively support operational change whilst effectively minimising disruption to production and service
- Manage and coordinate operational activities
- Attend and chair briefings when required
- Conduct regular team briefings with your own staff
- Communicate issues/information to your line manager
- Contribute to Safety/Continuous Improvement by sharing
- Best Practice with other team members, colleagues and national contacts
- Plan resources to match volumes
- Grow, develop and engage your team via our performance management processes and successfully develop pipeline talent of the future
- Create a culture of safety by guiding and leading safe working practices
Skills and essentials:
- Matric Certification
- Previous experience of successfully operating in a supervisory role in a Warehouse operation (desirable)
- Sufficient experience and knowledge of warehouse operation to effectively manage designated area to provide excellent level of service to the customer
- Ability to support the Warehouse Manager in the performance management, development, mentoring and coaching of members of designated team
- Ability to coordinate and delegate within a team whilst remaining operationally hands on, with the capability to coordinate daily activities
- Methodical and able to demonstrate the ability to
- Proven leadership skills Ability to make critical decisions within a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Strong PC skills
- A flexible and cooperative approach to changes in the rota to meet the needs of the business
- You will maintain high standards of customer service, for internal customers (e.g. factory) and external customers (e.g. retailers) and communicate these values to your team
